A great place to spend the day! So much to do here to list. From boat tours, snorkeling, scuba diving, dining, and more! Definitely worth planning a trip to Tobermory.
The largest of the Bruce Peninsula’s flowerpot formations and one of the many spectacular places along the craggy shoreline known for incredible views. This large inland flowerpot or stack was formed by wave action from a post-glacial lake 5,500 years ago.
The walk to the Devil’s Monument is actually quite short, but the access trail is steep, rocky and slippery. The hiking is not too difficult, but it’s not a good place to take young children. Bring sturdy footwear, a walking stick and watch out for poison ivy – easy to avoid if you know what it looks like.
DO: Take the trail and stairs down to the gorgeous rocky beach. You may want to bring a picnic, bathing suit and swim shoes if it’s a hot day and the clear water beckons. The shallow bay water warms up in summer.
Park at the Bruce Trail lot near the end or Borchardt Road. The Minhinnick Side Trail will take you around and back to your car.

The entire journey from start to finish to Flowerpot Island is well worth it. Great for the whole family! The island is famous for its natural "flowerpot" rock pillars, caves, historic light station and rare plants. Most visitors take a tour boat from the town of Tobermory to spend a half or full day on the island hiking the trails, viewing the scenery, picnicking or swimming. Bring sturdy footwear and water!

Hike to Williams Cave and the Bannister Hill Loop Side Trail (1 km hike) where there are a variety of lookouts and escarpment views.
Keep your eye out along the trail and on the face of the escarpment, where you will see many glacial pot holes. They may be filled with rock or sheared off, but there are plenty to be found!

*Walking sticks can be helpful on some of the challenging parts of the trail.
