The Galway market is open all year round on Saturdays and Sundays down by St. Nicholas' Collegiate Church. It has an exciting mix of food and craft stalls to browse; my go-to is the 'Veggie Mick' from the crêpe stall or Boychik's donuts - they're made right in front of you! Great area to grab a bite and take in the historic views of the 1320 Church and its surroundings.

7 Lombard StThe Galway market is open all year round on Saturdays and Sundays down by St. Nicholas' Collegiate Church. It has an exciting mix of food and craft stalls to browse; my go-to is the 'Veggie Mick' from the crêpe stall or Boychik's donuts - they're made right in front of you! Great area to grab a bite and take in the historic views of the 1320 Church and its surroundings.
Salthill is about a 30m walk/10m drive from the cottage and has a beautiful, 2km seafront promenade - locally known as 'The Prom'. Looking out over Galway Bay, the prom is a perfect spot for watching gorgeous sunsets and sunrises alike. The trail ends at the iconic Blackrock Diving Tower and is great for a rejuvenating dip in the sea. Tradition associated with the Prom involves kicking the wall across from the diving tower for good luck - so don't forget!

Galway sees about 232 days of rain a year - which is lovely for the grass - but means you're more than likely to get caught in a shower or two. Having some decent rain gear will ensure you can continue sightseeing and exploring unphased.
