Extremely knowledgeable and friendly animal keepers with feeding of the animals taking place throughout the day. Outdoor play area complete with Pirate Ship and an adventure castle. Well worth a visit - don't be put off by the rather grim exterior!

There is a wealth of things to do at Powderham castle from exploring the castle itself or joining an organised tour to learn about its history, to having fun in the petting zoo in the walled garden ( you can book to groom one of the castles ponies!) to taking one of the castles pet goats for a walk. With activities to suit all ages it is the perfect family day out.

Take the Babbacombe cliff railway down to the beach and when that's not open, there is even a minibus service up and down (ring the railway to get an up to date status). Open Wednesday to Sunday booking is highly recommended.
