Pretty lake nestled in a canyon. Good picnic areas, fishing and a trail around the lake. About 10 miles from Idyllwild. Wilderness pass needed to park. Available at the forest service office on Pinecrest St. or at several stores around town.

Although the tram is about 50 miles away and about an hours drive, it is a fabulous day trip. The tram takes you up over a mile in 11 minutes in a rotating gondola. Great desert and mountain views. At the top there are hiking trails galore for all ability levels. There is a forest service office, tram museum, gift shop two restaurants (Pines$ and Peaks$$) with amazing views of the desert and mountains. Check the trams website from current pricing on the tram ride.
