Slains Castle is a spectacular ruin standing on the clifftops in Cruden Bay, looking over the rugged North Sea.
Bram Stoker was a frequent visitor to this area. Slains Castle is thought to be his inspiration for his book 'Dracula". In particular the Octagonal reception room which is situated in the Castle and is described in the book.
Please be careful, there is are no barriers or fencing around the cliff edges.

Forvie National Nature Reserve is situated 1 mile from Newburgh and is home to Eider ducks, diving terns and oyster catchers.
Forvie Sands comprises an area of dunes 3 miles long and a mile wide. A beautiful walk just outside Newburgh. Car parking.
