Sightseeing

Entrance to Ichetucknee Springs State Park is between $5-$10 per vehicle. Entrance to either the North entrance or the South entrance allows for free access to the other. The North Entrance has hiking trails, the Headspring, and the renown Blue Hole famous for its beauty and especially popular among scuba divers. Kayaking and canoeing are also allowed in this area but tubing is not. The South Entrance is where Florida’s best tubing begins. Within this area parking is available, tubes can be rented (market price), there is a general store with food and snacks, pavilions, and a tram that will take you to different tubing drop-off points if you don’t feel like walking. Below we laid out some of the best tubing options. If you’d like you can stay completely inside the state park, or you can tube right back to where you are staying. The choice is yours! Just make sure you have a way to get back to your car! While there are some tubes at the Airbnb, if you rent tubes from the park you are not permitted to float past the South Takeout with the park tubes. Route 1: Start: Mid-Point Launch End: Community Beach next to Riverfront Spring Retreat (2.5 hours) Description: Midpoint is accessible by concession tram service or by following the midpoint trail behind the concession building (~0.65 mile from the south parking lot). If you have your own tubes you can float right out of the park and back to where you are staying at Riverfront Spring Retreat. You’ll see a different side of the river outside the state park where there are rope swings and beautiful houses lining the river. Before embarking on this adventure make sure you have a way back to your car and know how to identify the community beach! Route 2: Start: Mid-Point Launch End: Dampier’s Landing (1 hour) or South Takeout (2 hours) Description: Midpoint is accessible by concession tram service or by following the midpoint trail behind the concession building (~0.65 mile from the south parking lot). You can then float (45 minutes to 1 hour) to Dampier's Landing and walk (~0.25 mile) back to your vehicle at the south parking lot or continue floating for an additional hour to the last take-out. Please use the concession tram service or hiking trail (~0.55 mile) to return to the south entrance parking lot. Tram service wristbands are available at the General Store and are required to ride the tram. Route 3: Start: Dampier’s Landing End: South Takeout (1 hours) Description: Follow the trail behind the concession building straight to the river (~0.25 mile). You will float for 45 minutes to an hour to the last take-out. Please use the concession tram service or hiking trail (~0.55 mile) to get to the south entrance parking lot. Tram service wristbands are available at the General Store and are required to ride the tram. Wanna keep the party going? Add another 30-45 mins and float right back to where you are staying at the Riverfront Spring Retreat and get out at the community beach!
