One of the more popular locations in Heraklion to take a walk when the sun is setting. But what many don't know is that you can actually go inside the fort. My suggestion would be to visit it late one afternoon and afterwards walk all the way to the edge of the port where the lighthouse is and climb the stairs to the top of the walls and just relax by the sea.

Parks & Nature
A nice park right in the center of the city with a coffe shop in the middle of it. It is a great place to escape the heat on a hot summer day without having to stray away from all the sightseeing! Every monday and friday there is a local organic market and some evenings there is live music.

One of our favorite places to walk by during a stroll. We often go to Heraklion port through lions square and then take a left and walk by the side of the ocean till we reach the park.

The best burger in Heraklion!! It is known for its wide variety in beers but their burgers are often considered the stars of the show. A couple a months ago it was near immpossible to get a seat there but they just opened a second one right next to the first one and bussiness is thriving.

My favorite bar in heraklion! It is a tiny bar with stone walls and a lot of character. It can satisfy any rock and metal music lover as every night it plays something different, it often also has has event night focused on some of the more obscure gernes.
