The gardens are a perfect outing for a leisurely walk with pushchairs or family members who prefer paths to rough ground. Excellent farm shop on site selling meat from the estate and other fresh produce as well as a National Trust shop and cafe
Great exploring to be done in this ruined castle. Always a winner with the kids and there are great circular walks behind the site too.

Visit 'the village that died for England'. Wander through the remains of the fascinating and peaceful village of Tynham. Requisitioned by the army during the war, the remains can be visited at weekends by the pubic at weekends and bank holidays. Combine with a walk down to the lovely and secluded Worbarrow Bay for a gentle swim.

The dramatic ruined castle is worth a visit for its own sake. But it's worth taking the steam train down to Swanage. This is famous five country and it feels like it! Food in Corfe isn't great but a few minutes drive away is The Scott Arms, Kingston which is great and has stunning views of the castle
