Slim's is great for breakfast, with a diner atmosphere and great food. The pancakes are so tasty. There's sometimes a wait (half hour), which is the perfect time to check out the Petworth farmer's market, 100 feet away from Slim's

Soup Up is a relatively new neighborhood restaurant with staff that greet you by name. Their soups are great for take-out, and are really flavorful despite being organic and low-sodium. I highly recommend trying the apple and sweet potato spring rolls, too :-)

Drinks & Nightlife
The food is great and the atmosphere is happy. Twice they were very slow with the drinks for us, but the manager came out to say they would be free. So it worked out :)

It is about a 25 minute walk to get here, but there are no major hills or trouble spots. The yellow or green line will take you straight to downtown.
