TDS has the best margarita in the world. Get it on the rocks. Get a pitcher. Trust me on this. In addition, TDS has delicious tacos (fried chicken taco is my fave), guac, enchiladas (try the lemon cream sauce) and a generally fun atmosphere. The seating is outside on a screened in patio. The line can get long (out the door long) but the line moves fast.

You're out late and you're hungry - head to the Grill. Perfect American Classics with just enough grease to help you fall into a delicious food coma when you get home. You have to try a milkshake and you can't skip the fries with feta dressing.

The Gin Magnolia is my favorite cocktail.
Burgers, burgers, burgers. Clocked does them and does them delicious. They also have amazing milkshakes, tots, and fries. It is styled as a retro diner and is located in downtown Athens. My personal favorite is the Southwest Burger but you really can't go wrong.

When you say "Renown Athens restaurant" we say "Last Resort." Last Resort has modern southern cooking and the most delicious desserts. It is a little more upscale but you can't go wrong. They don't take reservations so you'll have to show up and hope for the best. Or if you're in the mood for a really good late night cheesecake just walk in, head to the dessert counter and order it to go. There's no shame in sitting on the sidewalk eating cake out of a box when it tastes this good.

It is a little more upscale but you can't go wrong. They don't take reservations so you'll have to show up and hope for the best. Or if you're in the mood for a really good late night cheesecake just walk in, head to the dessert counter and order it to go. There's no shame in sitting on the sidewalk eating cake out of a box when it tastes this good.
Locally made chocolate truffles, macaroons and coffee drinks. The hot chocolate is amazing. My favorite truffles here are the Mayan and the Raspberry but really, you should try them all.

This is about a two minute drive from the townhouse and is a family fave. It is perfect for large groups and also has a full bar in the back and is open late. Try the corn nuggets - they might sound strange but they are delicious.
Only open for breakfast and lunch and only open Monday through Thursday, Marti's is a true Athens secret spot. The Marti's chicken salad is life changing and all of the sandwiches and salads here are amazing. Order a half sandwich or salad because the portions are huge. Oh, and the mint sweet tea? I dream about it - that's how good it is.

This is the location of UGA's very first football game (against Mercer). Fun fact: our mascot at the time - a goat. The team realized they needed a mascot right before the game started. As Athens was still primarily a farm town in those days someone ran to a farm and grabbed a goat. Herty Field is an iconic UGA campus spot with a fountain and beautiful grassy area. It is close to the Arch, to downtown and the Chapel Bell.
