Sightseeing
This is the colonial part of Pondicherry inhabited by the French. Walking in the area will give you a good idea of how the colonial part of town was like. There are still many of the original colonial buildings still around, the large villas, the old administrative offices and the roads lead to the sea front. The urban design of this part of town has a French feel, very different to Heritage Town which is very Tamil in structure and urban design.
You can walk to White town from any part of Heritage Town and it is best to do so in late afternoon or early evening, when it is cooler.

White Town
