Beautiful, secluded hiking trail down into the Rio Grande Gorge. Trail ends at the confluence of the Red River and the Rio Grande. The road can become very difficult and muddy when it rains or snows melt so be sure to go on a dry day or on cold days in the winter (so the road is frozen). Taos also experiences long dry periods so it's possible the road will be fine no matter the time of year.

If you are visiting Taos during the summer, be sure to catch one of the student or faculty concerts. World class professional classical musicians staging amazing concerts. Current faculty includes the Borromeo, Brentano, and Cooperstown Quartets. Piano faculty includes Robert McDonald of the Julliard School and Curtis Institute of Music. Mr. McDonald was the recital partner of Isaac Stern, has a vast discography, has performed with major orchestras all over Latin and North America, and has won the gold medal at the Busoni International Piano Competition, amongst others. He spends his summers in Taos and is an absolute must see.
