Lake Zell is an absolutely stunning alpine lake surrounded by mountains. With a circumference of 11km, you can walk, run or cycle around the lake. Alternatively for a more relaxed time, you can hire a boat to drift on the lake, or simply sunbath at one of the many public bathing areas on the edges of the lake!

The Sigmund-Thun Klamm is a beautiful gorge in Kaprun (about 15 minutes' drive from here). Entry is about €7 per person, which is definitely worth it! We recommend starting at the gorge, then after that taking a little walk around the gorges' source lake (about 2km). There is a children's play park at the tip of the lake too with a cafe/bar serving delicious refreshments :)

The Sigmund-Thun Klamm is a beautiful gorge in Kaprun (about 15 minutes' drive from here). Entry is about €7 per person, which is definitely worth it! We recommend starting at the gorge, then after that taking a little walk around the gorges' source lake (about 2km). There is a children's play park at the tip of the lake too with a cafe/bar serving delicious refreshments :)

In summer this skiers paradise transforms into a playground for hikers and sun-lovers. The Kitzlochklamm is an impressive gorge in Taxenbach, that consists of steep cliff edges and winding wooden boardwalks. Its definitely a great reminder of the power of mother nature.

You can easily reach this destination by taking a funicular from the valley floor. If you're feeling really adventurous though you can walk up from the valley floor up and past the two large damms. It's a treck but its definitely worth it to see the beautiful rawness of the environment.

Stausee Mooserboden
The Mooserboden damm is absolutely breathtaking. The electric blue waters against steep mountain rock faces give this places an other-worldly feel. You can easily reach this destination by taking a funicular from the valley floor. If you're feeling really adventurous though you can walk up from the valley floor up and past the two large damms. It's a treck but its definitely worth it to see the beautiful rawness of the environment.
Ferleiten is considered the tallest waterfall in Austria, and its just 10 minutes from our chalet! There's a nice walk to the top of the waterfall, where you can then actually walk behind the water. An incredible experience!

Discovered in 1879, this intricate labyrinth of caves weaves itself through the mountain at 1,656m above sea level. You can take a tour of the caves from Spring through to the end of Autumn. It's cold in there so make sure to wrap up warm, but definitely worth a visit!

In summer there is a great network of hiking trails & running routes with beautiful views over the valley & Lake Zell. In winter this turns in to a winter wonderland and snow sport haven for those of you who are keen skiers and boarders. Enjoy!
The Kohlschnait Rodelbahn is such a fun experience. If you fancy doing something different , or would like something fun to do in the evening, this is the thing for you! For just €12 per person, you get picked up at the bottom of the mountain in Bruck and taken up to the Kohlschnait Alm where you get given a free schnapps. There you can either sledge back down immediately, or stay and enjoy some traditional Austrian food and drinks and sledge down after. The sledging track is 3km in total!

Previously a skiing piste, this is now an areas solely reserved for ski tourers. The piste is still groomed, so its the perfect mixture of getting the physical kick out ski touring going up, but then being able to safely ski down a groomed and managed piste.
