Beautiful place to visit and take pictures of you want something different then beaches. The construction of this building started around 1840. However, the work stopped when the owner died. After that, local businessman José Francisco da Silva came and financed the rest of the project to complete. The result is a unique example of Romantic-style architecture with its pretty pink Rococo facade and Versailles-style gardens. The gardens are arranged on three levels, all connected by grand staircases decorated with vibrant blue azulejo tiles. Construction of the palace was completed in 1909. After Silva's death in 1926, the palace was then handed over to several relatives and new owners. In 1977 the palaces were classified as property of public interest. In the 1980s, the estate fell into a state of disrepair and was eventually taken over by the Faro City Council. The restoration of the palace and grounds was financed by the Portuguese Tourist Office and the palace was converted into a Pousada (a state hotel in a building of historical interest). Restoration and renovation were completed in 2009. It was then converted into a luxury hotel. What it still is.

With stunning views over the Atlantic Ocean and the shapes of the cliffs carved by time and the sea: Ponta da Piedade "Could Very Well Be The Most Beautiful Shoreline On Earth" wrote the Huffington Post. Located two kilometers from Lagos, that area is full of caves, unknown coves and quiet beaches. The long, narrow staircase of 182 steps leads to a small bay, where picturesque boats await you to explore this natural paradise 💛

Praia dos Tres Irmãos : Literally Praia dos Três Irmãos means beach of the three brothers. This name was given because of the specific three rocks on the beach, which are the 'three brothers'. Praia dos Tres Irmãos is actually made up of several small coves, four in total. At low tide you can even walk from bay to bay. Doing this at high tide will get you wet. Exploring the coves is actually the most fun part of Praia dos Três Irmãos. It feels like you visit several beaches. And you will be able to take endless pictures here because it is really beautiful 💛

Praia da Barrinha is located at the far end of the island of Faro. By a wooden footbridge over a length of 1.5 km past old fishermen's houses you arrive at a very quiet and (usually) deserted beach. Here the coastline changes continuously with the action of the wind and the waves and you can see Ilha da Barreta (or Ilha da Barreta), on the other side of the Ria Formosa.

Imagine: the Grand Canyon on a beach. That's Praia da Falesia. This beloved beach is characterized by its incredible red cliffs. Even if you are not a beach lover, this beach is definitely worth a visit. Praia da Falésia is more than 6 kilometers long. It stretches from Vilamoura in the east to Olhos de Água (near Albufeira) in the west. The orange rocks contrasting with green pines and the blue skies make this one of the most beautiful beaches in Portugal 🧡💙

Praia do Carvalho is one of the Algarve's best kept secrets. Entirely surrounded by rocks, it would only be accessible by sea or by rappelling down the rock faces if there were no 15m, hand-carved tunnel. The extra effort required to get to Praia do Carvalho means the beach is relatively quiet all year round. There are no hotels or resorts right on the beach, so bringing your own food and drinks is a must! The beach has a kind of V-shape and is surrounded by steep cliffs. Therefore, do not sit directly under the cliffs as rocks can fall from time to time and there is no lifeguard on duty. But it is an authentic paradise 💛

How to visit the ALGARVE

Did you know that, until a few years ago, Carvoeiro was only a beach? But since 2001 it has officially been called 'village'. The name Carvoeiro comes from the word 'Caboiere', which means 'hamlet where fishermen live'. But a village and nowadays a seaside resort that has largely been built on a huge steep rock, is simply very special 🤍 Carvoeiro, left on the rock or right on the rock .. Carvoeiro is located in the middle and remains beautiful to view and photograph from all sides 💙

The history of Fuseta goes back to 1572, when it was still called Fozeta. From this Foz was derived from river mouth, namely the Rio Tronoco. The village is located on an island in the estuary. Initially, the area was just a collection of small fishing huts. The population increased and it quickly became a small village. The center of Fuseta has about 2000 inhabitants and belongs to the Concelho Olhão. Fuseta as a village was spared tourism for a long time, but in recent years the tourist facilities have expanded. From the fishing port you can take the ship to the beach of Praia da Fuzeta. With taxi boats it is also possible to visit other islands 💛

White houses, running from the slope to the banks of the River Arade, that is Ferragudo today. In 2020, the small fishing village celebrated its 500th anniversary. This typical Algarve village is to walk without haste and without goals. It is to be enjoyed, photographed and remembered 🤍
