One for the dinosaur lovers, kids will love exploring Australia's biggest permanent display of dinosaurs. We also love the big dinosaur sculptures outside! https://nationaldinosaurmuseum.com.au/

This is one of our favourite places - we have an annual membership so we can go back many times! This is a hands on museum where kids of all ages can learn about science and technology. There's even "Mini Q" for toddlers and babies. We love the water play section in Mini Q for the little ones (bring a change of clothes) and the big freefall slide in the main area for bigger kids. https://www.questacon.edu.au/

The zoo is privately own and has a great range of animals and animal encounters (we did the cheetah one which was fantastic). The aquarium is a hit too and so is the updated playground! You can bring your own food in and use the BBQ areas.

Playgrounds

This is a really fun playground, and arguably one of the best in Canberra. It features beautiful wooden acorns, nest swings and more among beautiful scenery. There is a toddler area but this will be more suited to older kids. This is a short drive from our apartment. https://www.nationalarboretum.act.gov.au/visit/highlights/pod-playground

Canberra's first all-abilities playground, this is a fully enclosed playground with lots to explore. There are BBQs and toilets. Great for the little ones and older children. Parking is a bit difficult, so best to park across Parkes Way and cross the road (following the crossings and traffic lights). This is a short drive from our apartment.

Something a bit different

This is one of our favourite escape rooms! You (along with up to 5 others) are in a themed room and have an hour to solve a range of puzzles and escape. Very fun but this is suited to older children and teenagers.
