Within walking distance or a very short drive, the Springs General Store has marvelous breakfasts and sandwiches. You can also rent kayaks there. It is a gathering place for both locals and summer people. On Saturday mornings, the Farmers' Market is just beyond the store across the bridge in the backyard of Ashawaugh Hall.
