Try out the new cycle track (open to the public when there are no organised events/races on)… try your hand at horse riding...they do beach rides...play golf on the 9 hole pitch and put course...play the new 18 hole crazy golf course…spend the day on the award winning seven mile Cefn Sidan beach. Food and drinks are available at locations around the park and various events are put on here throughout the season, check the park website for details.

There is so much to see here....visit the Bee Garden...the Japanese Garden...the Walled Garden...the Butterfly House...the Apothecary and the Apothecary’s Garden...the Great Glasshouse and so much more...a great day out. Checkout their website.

Burry Port has a lovely beach, great walks/cycle rides along the Millenium Coastal Path...a picturesque Harbour...and of course the Lighthouse...with views across to Gower and another lighthouse. Our favourite cafe here is Caffi Lolfa.

Lansteffan Castle is very much a ruin (hence it is free entry) but it is in a commanding position overlooking the the three rivers estuary. The panoramic view across the sea to Worm’s Head is stunning and well worth the climb up to the hilltop castle. The beach at Llansteffan is a favourite...it looks across the river to Ferryside ( a small, amphibious passenger ferry operates on high tides at certain times of the year) and out to sea. At low tide you can walk quite a way round the corner in the direction of Laugherne. There is a car park, small cafe and a fish and chip shop as well as toilets and a small children’s play area.

Laugherne is a fascinating place. Dylan Thomas spent some of his most fruitful years living in the Boathouse with his family and writing poetry in his writing shed. You can explore this little house and learn more about one of our greatest poets. The views out across the estuary are spectacular. The little cafe serves an excellent veggie cawl. You can also have a pint in Brown’s Hotel where Dylan used to drink. Complete your day out with a visit to Laugherne Castle.

Dylan's WalkLaugherne is a fascinating place. Dylan Thomas spent some of his most fruitful years living in the Boathouse with his family and writing poetry in his writing shed. You can explore this little house and learn more about one of our greatest poets. The views out across the estuary are spectacular. The little cafe serves an excellent veggie cawl. You can also have a pint in Brown’s Hotel where Dylan used to drink. Complete your day out with a visit to Laugherne Castle.
A fascinating restored house in the centre of Llanelli. We haven’t visited but we have been told it is well worth a visit. Check out their website.

A purpose built 20 kilometre long coastal footpath/cycleway starting at Binea (just east of Llanelli) and running alongside the estuary and ending at Pembrey country Park. Dinefwr Park National Nature Reserve is an 800 acres estate about 1.5 kilometres from the centre of Llandeilo in Carmarthenshire owned by the National Trust. At its heart is Newton House which is a fascinating, child friendly mansion which is great fun to explore and very well worth a visit. There is a cafe that serves drinks and snacks. with a mansion in the centre. The highest point in the park is occupied by the ruined Dinefwr Castle, ancient castle of the Deheubarth kingdom. From the ramparts there is a stunning view over the Tywi valley.

A great day out. Lots of paths through woodland and the meadow. (You can walk down through the garden to the beach at Amroth.) Children can play in the stream that runs through the meadow and on fallen trees. There is a delightful walled garden (dogs are not allowed in this area) and a great cafe.
Food scene
One of our favourite places to shop for local, wholesome food and to enjoy a coffee and/or tasty meal in lovely surroundings. The playground is very popular with children as are the farm animals, the mud kitchen and the garden walk. Check out their website.

Situated in the centre of the village of Llansaint this village pub has a great atmosphere and serves excellent food. Sunday lunch is particularly popular! It a good idea to book as it is very popular.
