Pretty hike around the lakes to a ghost resort from the 1800s.
It's the tallest mountain in Colorado, and the 2nd tallest in the contiguous U.S. Not for the feint of heart. Black Clouds trailhead is about a mile from our cabin, or the other trailheads are about 10 minutes away.

Another 14er. The trailhead is a few minutes from our cabin. The biggest mountain you see from our cabin is actually a false summit of La Plata (Ellingwood Ridge).

Skiing
If you want to avoid ski crowds/traffic and you're coming from the Front Range: arrive early to ski at any resort along the way (A-Basin, Keystone, Copper, etc.), then continue up to the cabin to soak in the tub and relax. Or do the reverse on your return home.
