2019 BEST ROOFTOP BARS IN MADRID: 360-view of Madrid!

Just in one look you can access to the 2019 best and closest Rooftop Bars in Madrid to my JOAN's LA CORRALA APARTMENT IN LAVAPIÉS! I created this updated content for you to have an unforgettable View of Madrid from the Top!! Almost all Madrid rooftops are located down in the city center within walking distance from the terraces. Most adjacent to the graceful main street Gran Via. Although the roof terraces are quite close to each other, the view can differ pretty much between them! Experience my list!!
On the 7th floor of CÍRCULO DE BELLAS ARTES, "AZOTEA DEL CIRCULO" is one of Madrid's best rooftop bars in this guide, with a central location, fantastic views and generous opening hours. From the roof terrace you get an absolutely stunning 360-view of Madrid's skyline. Perhaps the best view in the whole city. The rooftop bar has reasonable prices and a fairly new restaurant in Madrid that delivers great Spanish and Mediterranean food throughout the day. Breakfast, tapas, lunch, dinner and weekend brunch. The rooftop bar delivers all the classic drinks in form of wine, beer, sangria, champagne and cocktails. There is a 4€ fee to get up to the rooftop terrace, but it is well worth it. On this very large terrace you find both comfortable and stylish loungers and classic bar stools, along with more eating-suitable dinner tables. Probably the best place in Madrid for a long rooftop lunch.

"EL VIAJERO" restaurant and bar is situated over three stories in a classic nineteenth Century building, where the cozy and small rooftop garden on top is the prime spot to visit. It is the only rooftop bar in Madrid on this list, located in the Latina area of he city. "EL VIAJERO" (which btw means 'the Traveler') holds a full on restaurant on the ground floor, a second floor bar and on the third floor you get the best of both worlds. The kitchen on the terrace serves a nice selection of tapas and nibbles, along with crunchy pizzas with an Italian touch. The rooftop bar offers a wide selection of cocktails, where (of course) the mojito is a given favorite. Expect cool views over old town Madrid, a magical sunset accompanied with a vibrant and relaxed atmosphere. No reservations possible for the rooftop terrace, so be on time to be guaranteed a good spot.

"GOURMET EXPERIENCE" is situated on the roof of the shopping center El Corte Inglés, on the 9TH floor. More precisely it is a delicatessen market / restaurant area, where you can choose from a range of small gourmet restaurants, order your food and drinks and bring it out to the terrace! From here you get a great view of the Capitol Building and the main shopping street Gran Via. The rooftop terrace is open all year round, and location (both central and in a popular shopping center) makes it one of the most visited Madrid rooftop bars. Food and drinks ranges from Mexican and Japanese to classic Spanish and other international dishes. Perfect rooftop for a shopping break and enjoy the views, especially if you manage to pinpoint the sunset.

RADIO rooftop bar at ME Madrid Reina Victoria Hotel was recently refurbished and got a more exclusive edge, and have quickly become one of the hotspots of the city. During the afternoon and early night there is a nice lounge feel up here with a relaxed atmosphere. Later at night the party vibe rises, with DJs playing and the stylish people enjoying. Great fun, but also a bit expensive. From the terrace you get a panoramic 360-degree views over all of Madrid. The rooftop bar offers a great selection of cocktails and classic Spanish tapas for the hungry one. There is a stylish and classy lounge decor all over the terrace, with large sofas and umbrellas. Sometimes the rooftop is reserved for private events, like weddings, so worth checking that out before your visit.

From "LA TERRAZA DE ÓSCAR", a modern and luxurious rooftop bar, you get an amazingly beautiful 360-view of Madrid and its surroundings. Located on top of the Room Mate Oscar hotel, in the heart of the city and close to Gran Via. The terrace is equipped with cozy lounge furniture and Balinese beds, a beautiful swimming pool and very cool design on the interior and bar area. Both one of the best rooftop bars in Madrid and best rooftop pools in Madrid. The rooftop pool is open between 10.30 - 19.00 in summer, free for hotel guests but also available for external visitors at a fee of €40-60. This includes towel, a tequila and a glass of cava. For the non-swimmers and everyone else, the terrace is open nightly year round and offers a wide variety of crafted cocktails and bar bites. The food and drinks are complemented with great lounge vibes on weekdays and more of a party atmosphere on weekends. Very popular rooftop, so be in time for a good spot (and to catch the amazing sunset!).

FREE "TAPAS"!!!

Many guests asked me this question straight forward. Where can I find "free tapas" in Madrid? Or is this a Myth? Really? Food that’s abundant, rich and free? YES, if you know where the most authentic free tapas bars in Madrid are!!! These is a very special list designed for my guest and I am pretty sure you will love it!!!
"LA PEQUEÑA GRANÁ" calls itself a tapas bar, but this is no trap nor do they serve cardboard-like tapas. Located south of the Glorieta de Embajadores, you will easily recognize it thanks to the arches of its façade. At the controls there is always one of the three owners, young guys who are experts in catering. Here you can choose which free tapa you want among more than 20 different ones. My recommendation? Do not leave without eating the “bienmesabe”, which is pickled dogfish present on almost all tables.

In "TABERNA MALASPINA" you can take refuge from all the tourism that’s in the area of the Puerta del Sol. In one of the streets with more terraces for tourists per square meter, resists this tavern of special charm. The bar always has an atmosphere and is a good option for eating and drinking, especially “huevos rotos” (“broken eggs”) done more than correctly. Here loud music and fun are assured, but leave with the idea of eating standing up.

Together with your drink you will enjoy the classical "boquerones" and "patatas". And surprise, they have a vegan menu!

"EL RESPIRO" lo llevan unos gallegos majísimos que no solo te sirven una de las mejores cervezas de España, sino que la acompañan con tapas que van desde los "huevos revueltos con espárragos" hasta "braviolis". Imposible no volver!!!

Together with your "caña" you can eat from mini-hamburgers or cold salads, to scrambled eggs mixed with potatoes. Although Tribunal is one of the most “modern” areas of the city, there are also places like this one without any posture. "PETISQUEIRA" is a rare find in the free tapas bars in Madrid: they have a lot of space and many tables. So you may get a place, but don’t count on it. Their cañas with included tapas are famous in almost all the city!!!

"LA NUEVA", in Arapiles, very close to the Glorieta de Quevedo, is one of my favorite free tapas bars in Madrid! It’s a VERY small bar with few tables, with all the flavor of authentic Madrid. I recommend you go for cañas or wines (which have a very good price) and have some of the tapas that are on top of the bar. Hungry for bigger portions (raciones)? Order their “Russian salad”. They are always at their best and the service is a tad slow, but they are nice and professional.
