Absolutely best thing to do on your first morning or afternoon in Belfast. Buy your tickets from me (your host) or on the open top bus. Make sure to choose the City Sightseeing brand... by far the best tour company with live guides and a highly regular service.

Arts & Culture

Magnificent museum which has Irish and International art, pre-history artefacts, Irish history over the last 400 years or so, industrial revolution, Irish politics over last 200 years or so, Egyptian mummy, Spanish Armada, Geology, natural history, and a very respectful exhibition on the ground floor documenting the relatively recent troubles which is worth seeing in its own right. Hard to find such a great museum and variety all under one roof. Closed Mondays unless it is a bank holiday monday. In grounds of Botanic Gardens and just beside Queens' university, also visit the Palm House. Nice coffee shops - try Conor Cafe or Maggie Mays. Entrance is donation only.
