A must-see for visitors to the area, Oxford University’s many colleges are crying out to be explored. Go punting, visit the wonderful Ashmoleaum museum and the Pitt Rivers natural history museum, enjoy afternoon tea at the Randolph Hotel and be spoilt for choice when it comes to eating out.

Wallingford is a charming market town oozing with history and home to a wonderfully friendly community. Explore the antiques in the Lamb Arcade near the traffic lights in town and take a stroll around the lovely independent shops in and around the market place. There are plenty of cafes and pubs to try for refreshments and a good choice of restaurants. Just up from the Market Place is the Castle Gardens which is a beautiful tranquil place to walk and sit. From here you can extend your walk to the Castle Meadows and then join the tow path along the river either heading back into Wallingford or heading further upstream to Benson Lock (about 1.5 miles away). There’s a lovely cafe on the river bank at Benson - the perfect place to wile away a sunny afternoon - and buses back to Wallingford pass fairly frequently.
