A short walk from our home is a national historic monument - President Lincoln's cottage. Visitors can walk the grounds of President Lincoln's cottage and step into the room where Lincoln wrote the Emancipation Proclamation. There is also a visitors center with self-guided exhibits and guided tours of the cottage.
Hours are Sunday – Saturday: 9:30 AM – 4:30 PM.

Yup we have a cider house right in our neighborhood. All their cider and goods are sourced from within 200 miles of the US Capitol Building. They have a few of their own concoctions and many ciders from Mid-Atlantic producers that are otherwise hard to find in DC.
