Subways and Bus B44 are fasters way to get around
Most of the time, I take 2 or 5 trains, which comes first and transfer at Franklin Avenue or Nevins Street deepening on which subway you want to be on eventually. Generally until Nevins street, 5 train are faster.
You also can take Q trains. You only need to walk 10 mins. If you are okay to walk. Q can take you many places faster.
There is no good access in Brooklyn North to South. However if you want to go to North, Williamsuburg or Greenpoint.
Take B44. (Green point, take B44 till G train and transfer to G)
