Itäkeskus is only 10 minutes away and it has one of the biggest shopping mall in Finland right there. The shopping mall is called Itis. It has over 120 stores and over 40 restaurants and services. Inside the shopping mall you can also find the cinema multiplex called Finnkino. It has also IMAX movie theatre in it.

Kontula is considered an authentic neighborhood, with a vibrant bar and pub scene around the shopping center area. Also, you can find many different kinds of restaurants to try out. They even opened Uzbekistanese restaurant recently, so why don't you give it a go.
The whole shopping mall area is a bit scruffy and most definitely you'll find some authentic Finnish karaoke from this place. Also, you’ll find a mishmash of shops and bars in the area.

Metro is the fastest way to the city center!
Metro takes you to the city center in 18 minutes. Metro operates from early morning to almost midnight. The last metro from the city center leaves from the Railway station somewhere around 23:30. Keep in mind that you need to take the M2 metro to come to Kontula. The end station is Mellunmäki.
