amazing in the summer as a base to explore mountainous tracks on a bike or simply pick a peak and challenge yourself to walk up to the summit and enjoy the views
if your fortunate enough to be there for a days skiing I would recomend not getting the ski equipment from the slopes as the ques can take up too much valuable time. there are a few alternative places along the road approaching the cairngorm mountain

one of the UKs biggest fastest flowing rivers, full of amazing walks along its edge and at the right time of year you sit on the edge relax in the sun and watch salmon jumping clean out of the water. also a good chance of seeing Ospreys
