Don't miss taking the stairs up to the tower. The way to the staircase is at the far end inside the church. It's however not always opened though and schedule varies quite a bit.

Definitely a must-see. Most well-preserved castle in the surroundings. The location on a hill makes it outstanding. Possible to go with a bus from the train station in Hechingen. With a bicycle is also great fun.

Nice walking area. You can stay in the flat field or hike the small mountain to reach the castle ruins. There are several trails, one of which goes to a 2nd waterfall. Loads of fun.

Nice walking area. You can stay in the flat field or hike the small mountain to reach the castle ruins. There are several trails, one of which goes to a 2nd waterfall. Loads of fun.
This should be on your tour of the old town. You can climb up the hill to the castle and get down on the other side of the hill, either back to the old town or else towards the river. Find the small castle tower in the inner courtyard of the castle for great views over the city.

Food scene
Vegi is a small restaurant in the old town with a small but great terrasse. Their falafels and choices of sauce to go with it are simply amazing. French fries are also unique. If you can't get a place there they also offer some to take away with you on your stroll through the city.

Traube is a very authentic greek restaurant. I won't say more about it. Make sure to call and reserve before showing up.

Public transportation
Public transportation is free in the city on Saturdays. The bus and train stations are within 2-4 minutes from home (see the ad's photos).
Train schedules in the region: download the app Naldo. This app has the information about the local trains which the app from Deutsche Bahn doesn't always have.
Commute in groups in train: don't buy individual tickets unless you travel a very short distance. For longer distances (ex: going to Stuttgart) or for several hops, buy the ''Landesticket'' which sets a base price + price per group member. Unlimited travels in province BW for an entire day.
