This is a cool neighborhood, still a bit hidden from Seattle's shiny exterior. Tons of bars with music and great restaurants. Second Saturday Art Attack is awesome.

Has parking lot and overflow lot across the street (typically pretty full by late morning on weekdays). Can get light rail into Seattle. Can bring your bike on the light rail and on buses (take the light rail to University of Washington station to get to the Burke Gilman bike trail).
