It's good for people who really hungry. The staff (some branch) cannot speak english but you can point at what you want. The taste is not great but it's worth to try due to the cheap price! Russian cuisine and homemade fast food

Best breakfast in Moscow! The food has nothing to do with the limits and modesty of the Soviet times. To the contrary, you can feel the breathe of luxury and depth of history in the menu. Dr. Zhivago's team takes it seriously when it comes to Russian cuisine as a big part of the national culture. You'll experience a real adventure with these gastronomic references to the different stages of Russian history. Even the dishes that every Russian remembers from the early childhood sound differently here, turned into a real delicacy. The chef adds some unexpected details into every dish creating a fresh witty variation of the classic recipes and giving each of them a luxurious twist.

if you want go to a cinema, Pioneer is a best choice. Pioner was reopened in October 2009 and shortly after became one of the most significant cultural venues of Moscow. It’s a place with an attitude, where conditions of film experience, such as high-quality projection, priority of subtitles over dubbing as well as general anti-popcorn policy, are as much important as films themselves.

At the southern end of Red Square stands the icon of Russia: St Basil’s Cathedral. This crazy confusion of colours, patterns and shapes is the culmination of a style that is unique to Russian architecture. In 1552 Ivan the Terrible captured the Tatar stronghold of Kazan on the Feast of Intercession. He commissioned this landmark church, officially the Intercession Cathedral, to commemorate the victory. Created from 1555 to 1561, this masterpiece would become the ultimate symbol of Russia. Legend has it that Ivan had the architects blinded so that they could never build anything comparable. This is a myth, however, as records show that they were employed a quarter of a century later (and fou

This 13th-century neighbourhood was the first in Moscow to grow up outside the Kremlin walls. While its name means 'China Town' in modern Russian, do not expect anything Chinese - the name derives from an old Russian word meaning 'wattle', for the supports used for the walls that protected the suburb. This is the heart of medieval Moscow and parts of the suburb's walls are visible. The main places of interest are the collection of churches in the neighbourhood.

The famous flea market is only part of a big theme park that includes shops, restaurants, museums and monuments, all contained within a mock ‘kremlin’ (complete with walls and towers that make a great photo op). Within the kremlin walls, the place re-creates the workshops and trade rows of an old settlement. A concept long overdue, the Vodka History Museum (www.vodkamuseum.ru; open 10am to 6pm) is just three rooms, with the all-important traktir (tavern) attached. Other museums in the complex include the Russian Costume & Culture Museum and a small Toy Museum.

The only private house built during the Soviet period, the home of Konstantin Melnikov stands as testament to the innovation of the Russian avant-garde. The architect created his unusual home from two interlocking cylinders – an ingenious design that employs no internal load-bearing wall. It was also experimental in its designation of living space, as the whole family slept in one room, divided by narrow wall screens. The future of Melnikov House is in jeopardy due to the corrosion caused by construction in the surrounding area.

Parks & Nature

Activities include cycling, rollerblading, beach volleyball, urban and extreme sports, table tennis and even pétanque. There are several bicycle- and skate-rental places around the park, with one conveniently located under the pedestrian bridge. In winter, the ponds are flooded, turning the park into the city’s biggest ice-skating rink. Art objects pop up throughout the park as part of various exhibitions and festivals, but Darya Zhukova's Garage Museum of Contemporary Art plays the flagship role. There are also a multitude of eateries from small kiosks, such as AC/DC in Tbilisi, to large restaurants and open-air bars, the most popular ones being Lebedinoe Ozero and Le Boule.

All the things that have improved Moscow parks no end in recent years fill this small, charming garden to the brim. Today it is possibly the most happening place in Moscow, where art, food and crafts festivals, and concerts occur almost weekly, especially in summer. The garden was created in 1894 around a theatre that saw the screening of the Lumiere brothers' first film in 1896 and the 1898 Moscow premiere of Chekhov's Seagull performed by the troupe

Krymskaya Naberezhnaya features wave-shaped street architecture with many Scandinavian-style wooden elements, beautiful flower beds and a moody fountain that ejects water randomly from many holes in the ground – a sure way to make children (and some adults) run and laugh unstoppably for hours on a hot sunny day. Moored here, the cruise ship Valery Bryusov is being converted into an art and educational venue, complete with a cinema, a music venue, cafes, a co-working space and even a barber shop. The Vernisage, an artists market, is about the only place left here from the old days.
