This is the friendliest, funkiest, coolest bar and food spot in the neighbourhood. If you go I'm sure you'll end up chatting to Mike - the owner, he's such a lovely chap - wonderful story and he's so proud of the place he worked his whole life to create and open. Get him to show you the back room too!
Silver Light Tavern

Amazing vibe, huge outdoor area, the food is fantastic, the ambiance is very hipster but not off putting. It's tucked away but worth hunting out!

Nice park, currently getting a bit of a face-lift. Good vies of Manhattan. Here's where you can take a ferry over to Manhattan (either Wall Street or 35th Street. It will also take you down to Dumbo, which is well worth a visit.

This park is new and has been done really well. Great views of Manhattan, lots of space for lounging and a nice Taco restaurant in the middle of it all.

I actually prefer Prospect Park to Central Park - a lot less busy. So many hidden spots, a great botanical garden, and a museum which is worth checking out. You can really make a day of it here.
Just jump on the G train down to Prospect Park Station.
