It is a scenic drive down the gorge on one side. Then you drive across a low bridge across the river with a view of the bridge. You can park and watch rafters go down the river. Please make sure you wear a PFD if you get in the river. The current is very strong.

If you are interested in the history of the gorge, definitely check out the visitor center. There is also a short hike from here with a view of the bridge.

3 mile round trip hike with multiple beautiful views of the gorge. Can be very busy with limited parking so it is best to start early.

Neighborhood overlook with one of the best views of the bridge. From Redstar house take left out of driveway. Continue through neighborhood until you reach a stop sign. Turn left. Continue on road past two houses on the right. Park in gravel area next to trail map kiosk. Very short down the hill to an awesome overlook! There are nice trails leaving from there but explore at your own risk. They aren’t marked as well as the park service trails.

Take a jet boat ride up the river from Hawks Nest state park. It’s a beautiful view of the gorge! You may want to call ahead but can probably show up last minute for tickets.
