Food scene

Good spot for a pre-hike breakfast. My favorite is the vegan rancheros with tofu instead of the eggs, "Christmas" of course.

Is it a hot day? Try the super unique frozen hard seltzer! Staff is super friendly and it is a good hangout to watch a United or Isotopes game (the fields are near by).

I don't eat meat but my friends like it. Even I have to admit that it smells good :) (please note, the Zuni location is now closed and has relocated to 1300 San Mateo Blvd SE).

This stretch on Central is a good place to walk around, shop, eat and drink. East of Nob Hill, on Central just north of the Quincy apartment is some of the most unique antique and thrift stores in the country!

Sightseeing

I use any excuse I can to go up the tram. It is beautiful and interesting all times of the year. There are a number of great hikes on top of Sandia as well. Its a whole other world up there and you haven't really seen Albuquerque until you have seen it from Sandia.

Albuquerque would not exist without the life giving waters of the Rio Bravo/Rio Grande. You can park on the north side of Central by the river, walk a minute or two down the trail, and completely forget your in the middle of the city. Don't forget to look up every once in a while and see if you can spot porcupines in the cottonwood trees.

If you have been to the mountain and the river, its time to see the desert. Albuquerque's west Mesa has a massive collection of petroglyphs and ancient volcanos you can climb as well. Don't forget to turn around every once and a while for views of the bosque and Sandia.
