Diocletian's Palace today forms about half the old town of Split. It's an ancient palace built for the Roman emperor Diocletian in 4th century AD. While it is referred to as a "palace", it can be misleading as the structure more resembles a large fortress. It is UNESCO-listed and was used as a location for filming the fourth season of the HBO series Game of Thrones.

The central portion of this structure dates to 350, making St Duje’s the oldest cathedral building in the world. If you want to have the best view of the city, climb up to the Bell Tower and just enjoy.

Marjan is a hill on the peninsula of the city of Split. If you find the city crowded and want to relax in the nature, Park Marjan is the best place for it. You can even rent a bike at the park's northern entrance (Marjanska Vrata).
If you climb up the hill, you can see the most fascinating view of the city and enjoy a cup of coffee at Vidilica caffee.
Marjan has a few beaches you must visit: Bene, Kašuni, Obojena, Ježinac, Jadran.

Taxi is the fastest form of public transport
I recommend that you install (if you haven't already) Uber and Bolt applications. It's the cheapest and fastest way to get somewhere. We do have buses and regular taxis, but buses are unreliable (as far as the timetable is concerned) and city taxis are way more expensive than Uber/Bolt.
