Ogunquit: This is by far our favorite beach. It's about a 7 minute drive from the cottage with a big parking lot. On the river side, there's calm water for paddleboarding and kayaking. On the ocean side, there's tide pools at low tide. Bathrooms available.

Ogunquit: This is by far our favorite beach. It's about a 7 minute drive from the cottage with a big parking lot. On the river side, there's calm water for paddleboarding and kayaking. On the ocean side, there's tide pools at low tide. Bathrooms available.
This Wells beach is probably the closest drive (2.5 mi from cottage) but parking is limited at about 25 spots, and at high tide, there is no beach! The tide comes right up to the sea wall. At low tide, though, check out the tide pools and catch some crabs. Calm waters even at low tide, so good for families with little kiddos.

Crescent Beach

This beach is private, but you can walk from the cottage down Furbish Rd, and take one of the Public Access Ways for a beautiful morning beach walk. At high tide, there's not a whole lot of beach to walk, though! Not recommended for a beach day. No parking.

Wells: This beach is a beautiful lookout point at the ocean. Go down Mile Rd and park in the lot. Get smoothie bowls from Loveshack Juicery or fried seafood from Forbes. There's also a small playground, an arcade and a couple of beach shops. There's also a trolley stop here in front of the candy shop.

There's also a small playground, an arcade and a couple of beach shops. There's also a trolley stop here in front of the candy shop.
Visit this beautiful Reserve (must pay per person) and take the 10-15 minute walk down to a very private beach just north of Drake's Island. (Bring the bug spray for the walk!)

Wells: This beach is on the north side of Wells, but is a local favorite. The walk is along the jetty and public restrooms are available.
Hot tip: Ogunquit beach but use the North Beach lot! North Beach parking lot is located at the northern end of Ogunquit Beach and accessed from Ocean Ave. in Wells. From Ogunquit Village follow Main Street (Route 1) north into Wells and turn right at the first traffic light on to Bourne Ave. Follow Bourne Ave to the end and turn right onto Ocean Ave and follow it to the Ogunquit town line. It is a single entry paid hourly parking lot. North Beach lot holds approximately 165 cars. Bathroom facilities are available; however, no food concessions are available. This lot is very busy and commonly fills up after Main Beach and Footbridge lots are full on good beach days.
