Pine Creek Rail Trail
A 63 mile rail trail going through the heart of Pine Creek Gorge aka the PA Grand Canyon. Excellent for walking and biking. Starts at Tioga Junction, Wellsboro, south to Jersey Shore, PA. Pine Creek Outfitters offers shuttle services at various access points if you only want to explore one way. Voted one of the top ten trails in the world!

My favorite view of the Canyon. An easy, 3/4 mile walk to the rim on a level trail. The only handicapped/wheelchair accessible vista available.

A beautiful hike around the falls, but the best thing is that you can actually swim right into and under the waterfall letting the water cascades all over you. Just be forewarned....the water is cold, so do the hike first.

A lovely manmade lake with a public sand beach swimming area, picnic areas, children's playground, and hiking trails. There is also a very nice restroom and changing area, and a concession store to get simple food and snacks.
About a half hour south of the cottage, just west of Mansfield, PA

111 Spill Way RdA lovely manmade lake with a public sand beach swimming area, picnic areas, children's playground, and hiking trails. There is also a very nice restroom and changing area, and a concession store to get simple food and snacks.
About a half hour south of the cottage, just west of Mansfield, PA
A family favorite with lots of hands on activities to keep everyone interested and learning. A great place to fill a rainy day. Very family and child friendly.

A quaint little town with a few stores, but the biggest attraction is in the Fall. There are several really nice Orchards for U-Pick apples in season. Gardiner's comes to mind with weekend horse drawn wagon rides to and from the trees.
