Come see Copper Peak, an incredible ski jump in the Great Northwoods. It is not operational, but is still a sight to see! It is open for rides to the top in the warmer months, providing a spectacular view, especially for leaf change.

Parks & Nature
Beautiful hike through the trees to one of many scenic waterfalls lining the Black River in the Ottawa National Forest. Rainbow falls can be accessed two ways: Head North up the road (a right out of the driveway) and 1/2 mile up the road will be one parking area for the Rainbow Falls trail. You can also access the falls from the other side of the river by going to the Black River Harbor Recreation area and crossing the suspension bridge. Then follow the North Country Trail/Rainbow Falls signage.

Spend a day on the pristine beaches and water of Lake Superior. Make a campfire out of drift wood and float on the clear waters. A great place to watch the sun rise and set and on the clearest of nights, you may just catch the Northern Lights.

The Porcupine Mountains has hundreds of miles of trails to explore! However if you are looking for the nearest area to Rockhound Hideaway, check out Presque Isle Recreation Area in the Porcupine Mountains. There is a boardwalk and waterfall loop to see some really spectacular waterfalls and views. It also has beach access, so bring a picnic or stuff to grill and make a day of it!
