This is a little bit of a drive, great motorcycle ride, about 35 minutes away. But, this place is becoming legendary in this area. They have a very large menu and very large portions. They are known for their catfish and chicken. When you order, if you order chicken or catfish, the server will ask if you want to upgrade to "all you can eat." That's just insanity. My husband will usually order a meal, then I'll order one or two additional pieces of chicken or catfish, and we'll split his meal. You can get to it by land or lake.

What is there not to like about ice cream. The establishment is not open year round, just depends on the customer volume.

After eating, I will stroll over to 417 Vintage, across the street, west. Interesting little shop.

This is the very first Bass Pro, founded by Johnny Morris. It is about an hour and 15 minutes away, straight north. I understand this is not going to appeal to everyone, but if you're a sportsman, this might be right up your alley. Like I said, it is a long drive.

Yep, right next to the marina. Black Oak does have a community shoreline, but the corp ramp and is usually busy with boats loading and unloading and people swimming. If you're planning on spending the day splashing on the shoreline, I'd probably pay the small admission fee and spend the day here. Very neat and well maintained grounds.

This is definitely seasonal. But, it is right up the road from Dogwood Canyon. We make a point to go at least once a year to pick blueberries. You can also purchase muffins, gift baskets, syrups, etc.

KAYAKING...We like to kayak, but we have never used an outfitter. Galena is about 30 minutes away. This is a pretty easy float that I think anyone could do. Due your diligence and research outfitters, but I'd highly recommend spending a day floating. Wonderful.

This is so much funnnnnn! There are several of these in the area. I've been on most of them, and this is my favorite. (I have not been on the newest one at Shephard of the Hills). Thus is a small roller coaster that snakes along the ground. No big drops, no looptie-loops. It is open day and night. It is a whole new experience at night when it's all lite up. They also have ziplines at this location. I love ziplines at this location.

Sometimes, we just inflate a floatie and hand out on the community shoreline. Please do not trespass onto the privately owned boat docks. Please make time to enjoy the beautiful sunsets from this shoreline.
This is a golf course with trails, restaurants, museums and Chapel of the Ozarks and Civil War era cabin. We generally go there for the gold cart trail. There is a fee to get onto the property. But, we have always been credited that fee when we rent a golf cart. I would highly recommend this to anyone. It is so much fun just to meander the asphalted trails. Just an absolutely beautiful setting!! I'm always disappointed when we reach the end of the trail.
