Hands down one of the best pastry shops in the state. Their cannolis are better than anything you'll find in Brooklyn and don't miss out on the pecan ring. Desserts and custom cakes are all delicious.

MetroNorth accessible but you'll want a car or bicycle
Our home is just 8 minutes from Purdys MetroNorth station. Be sure to book a cab in advance as we have found Uber to be inconsistent in availability in this area. Driving is a preferred mode of transportation though bring your bikes if you want to get out on the trails or site-see at a slower speed.

This restaurant fills up on the weekends with day-trippers from the city-- and for good reason, the food and setting are excellent. Make a reservation in advance through their website and be sure to pop into their store to pick up ingredients for fresh meals at home.

Swimsuit, sneakers and long pants
If you're coming in the summer, don't forget your swimsuit and suncreen! Bring sneakers to get outdoors and you may want to pack light pants as there are ticks out on the trails. But don't worry, long pants and a post-hike tick check will keep you safe. We have never had an issue (and spray our property to keep ticks away).
