Mount Mitchell is the highest peak east of the Mississippi and it's all right in our backyard! The top is a breathtaking 360° and you can drive up to the park, check out the view and then do trails from there for some hiking. The trails are unlike many in the area due to the elevation making it similar to areas much further north.
