About an hour drive away. The setting is beautiful. The tour through the house is fascinating but does require a lot of steps. This is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Worth the time and the drive.

Hiking and Biking
The GAP trail is a 150 mile hiking and biking trail that passes right through Mount Savage Farm. You can access the trail by walking through the backyard and up past the pond. It is 11 miles downhill to Cumberland MD, where the trail begins and joins up with the C&O Canal. A great afternoon adventure for the whole family is to drive your bikes to Deal. It is a short ride to the Eastern Continental Divide - the highest point on the trail. It’s all downhill from there!!! On your way back to the farm you will pass through the Big Savage Tunnel and get spectacular views. The trip is approximately 14 miles. Then it’s time for.a swim in the pool!!!

If you like to gamble, Rocky Gap is a short 15 minute drive down the highway. It’s a very scenic location with a golf course and hiking opportunities as well!
