Nobbys has so much to offer. A great walk along the break wall is always a fun thing to do. You can watch the large ships come in to and leave the harbour as well as all types of sailing and motor boats. The beach is a favourite with a lovely kiosk and covered picnic tables. On the hilltop by the beach is Fort Scratchley (a former coastal defence installation) open to the public on Wednesday to Monday from 10am -4pm.

This is a great place to sit, have a refreshing drink, watch whales and dolphins frolicking in the waves and admire the beautiful coastline. Well known beach for its surf and fantastic ocean baths, Merewether is one of my favourite beaches.

Beautiful gardens, lots of room to spread a picnic and amazing views of the coastline. Built as a recreation reserve in 1863 with a beautiful Victorian rotunda, used by many couples as a site for their wedding vows. Look at visitnsw.com for more details.

Nelson Bay is just under an hour away and is such a pretty place. In winter its a wonderful spot for whale watching as the whales migrate north to mate and give birth and then come south again to pass with their newborn their babies . There are a few boats that will take you out on their cruises, look up info@imaginecruises.com.au.

In winter its a wonderful spot for whale watching as the whales migrate north to mate and give birth and then come south again to pass with their newborn their babies .
