The museum has just been refurbished, and is absolutely stunning. It's very easy to spend half a day to a day fully exploring their expansive collections- plus, it has a giant wombat and dinosaurs, and a rooftop bar/cafe.

A little bit cheesy and dated now, but a must do for anyone young, or young at heart, coming to Sydney for the first time. The giant face is pretty iconic too.
