Our favorite breweries

Outer Range is known for their IPAs, but they also have great coffee (through Mountain Dweller, a local artisan roastery) with waffles and pastries in the morning, and fried chicken (through Bird Craft)! It usually gets busy here in the late afternoons and evenings, and they have outdoor seating open year-round (covered patio with heaters in the winter). Try James' favorite beer, In the Steep IPA! Location: 182 Lusher Ct, Frisco (right next to the Whole Foods)

HighSide is another of our favorite breweries (right on Main Street in Frisco). In addition to great beer, they have excellent barbecue (including a vegan option), arcade games & shuffleboard upstairs, and live music on some nights. Try Jessica's favorite from HighSide -- their sours or gose! Location: 720 Main St, Frisco (corner of Main St and Summit Blvd)

A smaller brewery, Angry James has a cozy atmosphere with an outdoor patio (covered in winter) with a fire pit. It gets busy here in the afternoons, so try to come early if you can! They also have live music from local bands on some nights. As of Spring 2022, they no longer have a food option, but you can bring your own food (they will hopefully find a new food provider soon though). Try James' and Jessica's favorite AJ beer, the Citra Lager! Location: 421 Adams Ave, Silverthorne (near Blue Bird Market)

Broken Compass has two locations to choose from: their original brewery location (68 Continental Ct., Unit B-12, Breckenridge) and a taproom in downtown Breckenridge (520 S. Main St., Breckenridge). The downtown location also offers food served by BreakFast (fried chicken options), but you can bring your own food to either location.

City/town information

Frisco is a beautiful mountain town, located on Lake Dillon and in the middle of the mountains. At an elevation of just over 9,000 ft, you may feel a slight lack of oxygen while you're here. Stay hydrated to help adjust to the altitude and prevent headaches! Frisco is one of several small towns and villages in Summit County. You'll probably find yourself venturing to at least one of these (Breckenridge, Silverthorne, Dillon, Keystone, Copper Mountain, etc) during your stay. We've provided recommendations inclusive of all of Summit in this guidebook. There is a staffed Visitor Information center located on the corner of Frisco's Main St & 3rd Avenue (300 Main St). Stop in here to ask any questions about the area, look for more guidebooks and activity ideas, and get some coupons for local activities & restaurants.

Breckenridge is a ~15-minute drive from our condo (southeast on Hwy 9) and is great for year-round activities. In the winter you will find world-class skiing, snow shoeing and more. In the summer it is a popular destination for shopping on Main St, biking, restaurants and much more!

交通資訊

Plan for I-70 traffic congestion

If you are traveling West-bound on I-70 (Denver to Frisco) on a Friday afternoon/evening or East-bound on I-70 (Frisco to Denver) on a Sunday afternoon/evening, plan extra travel time for traffic. Traffic can get backed up as people travel to Summit County from Denver for the weekend. Possible detour: Take Loveland Pass (instead of the Eisenhower tunnel). It's about the same amount of time, and you'll go up and over the continental divide for some great views! *Note* Loveland Pass often closes in the winter due to dangerous conditions, so check for closures before you start the detour.
需要帶些甚麼

Bring layers and sun protection (year-round!)

The weather can change quickly in the mountains, and the sun is powerful! In the summer, the evenings can be chilly, and in the winter, the mid-day sun can be really warm. The UV rays are strong up at altitude, so you really need sun protection year-round.
