While most people dwell at restaurants and cafes recommended by lonely planet, there is this stall that sells very yummy popiah and yam cake in front of a boutique shop that many tend to overlook.
Popiah is literally the local version of spring roll with radish, peanuts, dried tofu and some seasoning sauce in it.

Most know what a satay is, but we have a new definition of how satay is served in Melaka. Satay Celup is the hotpot version of the barbeque satay, which the hotpot contains peanut flavored gravy that boils slowly like a mud pool.

The best way to explore this fortress is to climb the stairs to the top, look at the Melaka strait from it and imagine the fleets from enemy attacking Melaka, or look at the shopping malls and properties nearby and imagine those places were just sea before they were reclaimed 20 years ago.
Jonker Walk is just like the night market of other countries except that the shop houses here are some heritage buildings that make the whole feel of it different from others. Here you can have nice bargain for local souvenirs, listen to live karaoke performed by old folks and enjoy local delicacies.
