Easily some of the best German food you'll find in the South. Maybe that's not saying much, but seriously, this place is good. Food is rich and decadent, like all good German food, but it's also damn delicious.

This is a very special place. It's hard to call it a "cafe," because it's so much more than that. It's a wine bar. It's a cafe. It's a gorgeous bookstore with tunnels of books and weird kookie manuscripts. It's got couches and lounge chairs hidden in book-filled crannies. It sometimes has live music. Above all, it's a great place to sit down, relax, and have some great conversation.

If you happen to be in South Asheville, this is one of Tupelo's satellite locations. I say "satellite" because it isn't the original Tupelo, which is in downtown Asheville, but it does have all the same food and is pretty darn great.

This is where really big performances, shows, etc happen in Asheville. It's our closest thing to a stadium for major acts. Orange Peel is still better for live music, but anything that is massively popular and needs a huge audience will have to happen here.
