Great surf most of the year attracts surfers from around the world to Whale Bay.
There are several walks and tracks in this area starting from the carpark and leading down to Ngarunui beach.
Walk through the trees along well contracted paths, crossing bridges over stony bottom creeks, or taking in the views of the harbour. A nice place for a picnic.
