The trail head is located on a one acre site about ½ of a mile south of Downtown Kings Mountain. The site is located at 807 S. Battleground Avenue at Quarry Road (GPS Coordinates N35° 13.802’ W081° 21.030’) and is connected to downtown via sidewalks. The Carolina Thread Trail starts in the downtown of Kings Mountain, runs through the Kings Mountain Gateway Trail parking lot, on to the entrance of the Rail Trail at the Gateway and then turns right onto the loop trail then right again onto the Foote trail that heads south to I-85 and on past to Galilee Church Road. The new section of trail on the south side of I-85 is great for biking, mostly flat and nearly finished. You can park at the tr

The Four Seasons trail heads out of the Meadows area through deciduous forest and connects with the Hickory Nut Falls trail.
This .6-mile moderate-to-strenuous trail climbs nearly 400 feet and provides you access to the top of the mountain year-round without driving.
The Hickory Nut Falls trail takes you out to a platform at the bottom of a 404-foot waterfall, the second highest of its kind east of the Mississippi River and a backdrop for several scenes in the movie The Last of the Mohicans. It’s a cool, refreshing stop and a “must see” during your visit to Chimney Rock.

Self-interpretive trail guides are available for several nature preserve trails.
