Piggy's, across from Terra Cottage. A restaurant for the whole family, especially the kids, serves breakfast and lunch. It has a decor of things relating to pigs, and a gift area in the front to purchase piggy things (tee shirts, mugs with tea bag holders, and all kinds of gifts). Moderately priced. They also have an ice cream shack, open during the spring/summer seasons. is the Terra Cottage, a quaint restaurant/gift shop offering breakfast and lunch. In mild weather you can sit on the deck and see the lake. Laurie and Charlie own the place, and Laurie goes around the world to find unique and thoughtful items you probably have not seen anywhere else. Be sure and try the breakfast quiche.

Kirby Center for the Performing Arts in Wilke-Barre, about 40 minutes from the condo, is a historic movie theater that has been converted into a stage theater, so it has an older opera house auditorium seating layout. It offers concerts and musical theater shows. Shows that have been presented include the Beetles (tribute) and Annie. Acts that have performed there recently include ZZ Top, Josh Ritter, Ace Frehley, Steve Miller Band, Ron White, Bob Weir and Kix. Parking is available at several garages around the Center, at decent prices. Handicapped seating may be an issue, and one review reported no air-conditioning, so check ahead if these are concerns.

The Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area is a great place to spend the day, no matter the season. The river valley contains streams, waterfalls,geologic features, a diversity of plants and wildlife, and traces of the past. It offers canoeing, rafting, fishing, picnicking, hiking and camping.

Yes, there actually is a Split Rock. Check it out by asking for directions at the Split Rock Lodge, about 6 minutes (2.4 miles) from our condo. Turn left out of our area onto Lake Harmony, past Piggies and Terra Cottage, to Resort/Lodge).

In White Haven, 3613 PA 534, 10 minutes from our condo. 15,990 acres, more than 40 miles of hiking trails, three state park nature areas, miles of trout streams. Orchard Loop Trail, a 3-mile trail featuring a waterfall, hiking, walking, nature trips and bird watching, is within the Park. Contains Boulder Field, a striking boulder-strewn area, a National Nature Landmark. Check out DCNR.pa.gov for more information.

Contains Boulder Field, a striking boulder-strewn area, a National Nature Landmark. Check out DCNR.pa.gov for more information.
The Ironton Rail Trail is a rail trail that spans 9 miles in Lehigh County, Pennsylvania. The trail was made from tracks of the defunct Ironton Railroad and includes a paved 5 mile loop. The trail spreads across Whitehall Township, Coplay and North Whitehall.
The trail follows the route of the Ironton Railroad, which obliged the future trail makers by creating a lasso-shaped corridor to connect iron mines in the ore-rich county to iron foundries along the river and the Lehigh Valley Railroad. Built in 1860, the railroad survived the local iron industry decline by serving the growing cement-making industry, which left behind some of the most striking artifacts along the trail. Certain segments fell into disuse starting in 1955, until the last section was discontinued in 1984.
Whitehall and North Whitehall Townships and the borough of Coplay jointly acquired the corridor in 1996. All but 1.4 miles of trail are paved. The 142-mile D&L Trail is just across the Lehigh River from Coplay.
The north side of the loop on Chestnut Street is a good place to start, with parking and restrooms. Heading east, clockwise around the loop, you’ll arrive at Saylor Park in 0.7 mile. From a distance, you might think you’ve stumbled into Hogwarts on the set of a Harry Potter movie. What you’re seeing are the nine 90-foot-high brick cement kilns built for the Coplay Cement Company in 1893. They only operated 11 years before they became obsolete, but the kilns survive today as an open-air museum of the cement industry. The Coplay community pool sits across the trail from the kiln.
The trail bends right at the Lehigh River, a Pennsylvania Scenic River.

Located on Main Street in Stroudsburg, the Sherman Theater offers a full calendar of entertainment events each year, from festivals featuring local makers to large-scale concerts with headline acts. On January 26, 2019, the theater hosts the Pocono Winter Beerfest.
