This is only a mile away. You will pay a small entrance fee, but it is worth it if you enjoy hiking trails. Choose from easy to difficult, short or long trails. It's quite lovely. When you exit the park, go a mile further south on 285 and have lunch at Crossroads, prehaps play a game of billards.

A 15 minute drive away, this park sits by a lovely lake, with many trails. Quieter than many of the other parks. Take a sack lunch and picnic.

Entertainment & Activities
Even if there isn't a concert going on, the ampitheater is a great place to check out. We enjoy hanging out here, the theater itself is one of a kind, but the surrounding area is loaded with hiking trails as well. Entrance is free when there isn't an event going on.

This is the highest mountain pass in the western United States. Elevation is 11,990 ft. It is only 1 hour and 30 min. from here. It will take you to The Continental Divide. Dress warmly, it will be cold up there.
