20024 Silver Falls Highway SoutheastThis a beautiful part with several beautiful waterfalls wishing an easy hike.
This park is a lovely gathering place. It is a mile from the house. There is a carousel there and a playground. This park connects to two other parks via bridges, one a repurposed railroad bridge. Using these connecting bridges one could hike for 10 miles or more. In the summer there are concerts in this park.

A great theatre that show Indie and Art films, has great popcorn with real butter and is kind of an "in place" in Salem.
In the summer, I walk to this theatre. It is less than a mile away. There are also restaurants and coffee shops and a wine bar in the vicinity

This is a great spot for families with children. It is a very creative hands-on museum with a child-sized grocery store and vet clinic, a strobe light room, and a great outdoor climbing gym, playground.
