Villa Lara is set in a peaceful location ideal for walking the levadas (unmissable walks in Calheta include Paul da Serra, Rabacal (to Risco Waterall & 25 Fontes), Levada Nova and the Prazeres to Paul do Mar walk) and is close to a bus route. The property is approximately 30 minutes drive to Funchal and 45 minutes from the airport. A car is recommended so you can explore the island at your convenience. Old Wine Villa

Welcome to Paradise! Come stay at our cozy Villa with a splendid Atlantic ocean view by the infinity pool! This house was first built in 1932 and since then it has been know as "Casa do Vinho Velho", "The Old Wine House". My great-grand mother used to tell stories about the old man "Vinho Velho" and his passion for his wine and agriculture. The house has been updated but we have kept old features, like an old brick oven in the kitchen and 3 stone rocks for vine hanging in the living room!

Our place is a pleasant 12-minute walk from the Reids Palace, 25-minute walk from Park Santa Catarina, 30-minute walk from the historic Cathedral for those who enjoy a relaxing pace, or a short 5-minute drive. This light-filled ground-floor flat, with a huge total private patio with partial ocean view, offers queen-size bed suite, a bedroom with two twin beds, and an office. Two bathrooms: one private (with a shower) and one with a bathtub. The apartment can accommodate up to four guests.
